A man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after police talked him down from a bridge over the M62 .
The motorway was closed in both directions at around 7.30am today between junctions 22 (Rishworth Moor) and 24 (Ainley Top).
It was closed while police attended an incident on Scammonden Bridge, near Huddersfield, in which a man was in distress.
Police talked the man down from the bridge which has become a notorious suicide spot.
The man, 21, from the Huddersfield area, was then arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

Police reopened the motorway shortly afterwards.
A petition to make the bridge safer was launched in late 2018.
There have been at least 11 deaths at the bridge since 2010 and Highways England, which owns the bridge, has pledged action to improve its safety.
Last year, West Yorkshire assistant coroner Peter Merchant appealed for action to make the bridge safer.
