Man arrested after police stand-off following alleged shooting

A man who was in a two-hour stand-off with police at a home in Adelaide's south has been arrested after allegedly shooting another man in the leg.

Police were called to Flinders Medical Centre just before 10:00pm on Thursday night after a man came in with a gunshot wound to his leg.

After "extensive enquiries" police were able to determine he had been injured at a house in Seaford.

Police said they then went to the house on Willow Court about 7:30am, along with Star Group officers and negotiators.

After more than two hours of negotiations, police said the man was detained "without incident".

He was taken to hospital for treatment and assessment and will face further charges once released.

Neighbour Cheryl said police knocked on her door to inform her an incident was unfolding involving someone with a gun.

"It was very unsettling and then we went over to the shopping centre and we saw all the Star Force over there and the big vans and the negotiators rocked up," she said.

"My concern is where did he get the gun from? Concerning for all of us."

She said she was happy with the police response time and felt they had the situation under control.
