Man arrested after police seize £10k of cannabis and thousands in cash

Police have arrested a man after a drugs raid in the city centre.

Officers from GMP's Manchester City Centre policing team raided a home this morning, April 23, in connection with drug supply in the area.

When the team carried out a warrant at an address, they discovered 1kg of cannabis, believed to be worth around £10,000, an air pistol, and thousands of pounds in cash.

All three items were seized, and a 31-year-old man was arrested.

A picture of the seized items was shared on the GMP Manchester City Centre Twitter page.

Alongside the image, a spokesperson for the force said: "Our proactive team conducted a warrant this morning in relation to drug supply within the city centre.

"They seized 1kg of cannabis (street value of £10,000), an air pistol, and a quantity of cash.

"A 31yr old male was arrested at the address and remains in police custody."

The raid was conducted as part of Operation Orion, led by a dedicated team of officers based in the city centre who investigate serious crime linked to the area.

Since November 2019, the officers have worked to carry out surveillance and gather intelligence to identify anyone who might be involved in serious crime.
