Man arrested after police officer assaulted and car damaged

A man was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer following an incident in Bootle on Saturday night.

Officers were called at around 11pm, on Saturday December 14,  to reports of a domestic disturbance at an address on Grainger Avenue, Bootle.

The man is also alleged to have damaged a police vehicle during the incident.

Daniel Moore, 35, and of no fixed abode, was arrested at the scene of the incident and was charged with assaulting a police officer and criminal damage to a police car.

Merseyside Police said that officers were responding to a reported domestic incident when the assault took place. 

He is set to appear in magistrates court today.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We were called to Grainger Avenue in Bootle at just before 11pm on Saturday 14th December following reports of a domestic disturbance.

"Daniel Moore, 35, of no fixed abode, was arrested at the scene.

"He has been charged with assaulting a police officer, criminal damage to a police vehicle and body worn camera and will appear in magistrates court today (Monday)."
