Man arrested after police discover cannabis farm in morning raid

A man has been arrested after police discovered a cannabis farm in Bolton.

Officers raided a property in Mount Pleasant, in the Darcy Lever area of the town, this morning (Saturday, February 27).

They found a total of 45 cannabis plants hidden inside the address.

Pictures of the discovery were shared on Facebook by GMP.

A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis. He remains in police custody for questioning.

The raid was the latest in a crackdown on illegal drugs across Bolton.

Police officers also executed warrants at two premises in Breightmet on Friday morning.

At one, they discovered a cannabis farm with 32 plants.

On the GMP Bolton North Facebook page, officers said: "Another #BoltonNorth resident had an early morning wake up call from the local policing team today as officers continue to crack down on drugs.

"This morning (Saturday 27th February 2021), officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team executed a drugs warrant at a house on Mount Pleasant in Darcy Lever.

"Inside the property, police discovered a cannabis farm consisting of 45 plants.

"A 26-years-old male has been arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis. He remains in police custody for questioning."
