Man arrested after police chase stolen BMW through west Leeds

A man who was injured after a police chase through west Leeds has been arrested.

Specially-trained officers from the West Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Unit began pursuing a black BMW, which had been stolen from a house in Bramley, at around 10.42am on Monday, March 16.

They brought the vehicle to a stop in Raynville Road and chased the man on foot before arresting him.

A police spokesman said: "He was arrested and has been taken to hospital to be checked over but is not believed to have been seriously injured.

"The stolen BMW, a police vehicle, a member of the public’s van and street furniture, including a lamppost and a bus stop, were damaged during the incident.

"Officers are at the scene while it is cleared and made safe."
