Man arrested after pedestrian sustains 'serious injuries' in Llanelli collision

A man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a pedestrian was hit by a car.

The incident happened on Station Road near Llanelli town centre during the early hours of Tuesday morning.

As a result of the collision, which occurred at around 12.15am, a man sustained “serious injuries” and was taken to hospital, where he remains.

Police continue to appeal for witnesses who may have seen the incident, and have confirmed that a man from Llanelli has now been arrested.

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "A 33-year-old Llanelli man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

“Police had appealed for information following a collision on Station Road, Llanelli, in the early hours of Tuesday morning (February 18).

“A man remains in hospital with serious injuries as a result of the incident.

“On Wednesday, a man was arrested and later released on police bail pending further enquires.”
