A man has been arrested as part of an attempted murder investigation in Edinburgh .
The incident happened at around 5.30pm on Wednesday March 13 at a property in Pitcairn Grove in the south-west of the city.
David McMillan, 48, was attacked with a blade while the gang slashed the hand of his 22-year-old son, also David, after he tried to intervene.

Detectives said the victim suffered a “sustained attack” which they were treating as attempted murder.
The attackers fled from the scene in the city’s Greenbank area in an Audi A5.
The vehicle was set ablaze in nearby Oxgangs.

Police Scotland said a man has been arrested in connection with the alleged attack but released while inquiries continue.
Anyone with information is asked to come forward and quote incident 3117 of the 13th March.
