Man arrested after major Ayrshire drug bust uncovers cocaine worth £60,000

A man has been arrested in connection with a major Ayrshire drug bust which uncovered £60,000 worth of cocaine.

Police claim they discovered the class A controlled drugs after searching on a property in Mauchline this morning.

It comes after officers swooped on the scene at around 9.30am in Horwood Place.

A 39 year old man has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal for alleged offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 including being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug.

East Ayrshire Area Commander, Chief Inspector Steven Meikle said:“Drugs are a blight on society and ruin the lives of too many in our community.

“Our officers are committed to tackling these issues and continue to work with partners and specialist police officers to identify offenders and bring them to justice.

“Action like this would not be possible without the continued support of the public.

"I encourage anyone with information about those involved in drug dealing to get in contact with their local policing team.”

Anyone with information on crime in their area can contact their local policing team by calling 101 (Always 999 in an emergency) or the independent charity CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
