A man has been arrested and charged after a knife standoff with cops late last night.
Two police vans and a car descended on Nith Street, Dunfermline, Fife last night after reports of a disturbance at an address around 11.25pm.
When officers arrived a man locked himself into a flat and began 'behaving in a threatening manner'.
It is understood that the man allegedly had a knife.
The stand off lasted until around 12.10pm when cops managed to arrest the 34-year-old and take him into custody.
A police spokeswoman said:“Around 11.25 pm on Monday, 19 April, 2021, police were called to a disturbance in Nith Street, Dunfermline.
“On arrival officers found that a man had locked himself within a flat in Nith Street and was behaving in a threatening manner.
“Around 12.10 am on Tuesday, 20 April, the 34-year-old man was arrested and taken into police custody.
"He has now been charged in connection with the incident and is expected to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 20 April, 2021.
“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
