A would-be criminal has been arrested after injuring himself and calling an ambulance during an alleged break-and-enter gone wrong.
South Australian Police say the 22-year-old man suffered a cut to his leg while trying to kick in the glass door of a bike shop in Unley in Adelaide's inner south in the early hours of Monday.
He called an ambulance and was taken to hospital where he received sutures.
Police say the Adelaide man was trying to steal a bicycle from the shop and had earlier broken into a supermarket in nearby Malvern, where he stole a number of food items.
He was arrested and charged with trespassing and theft as well one count of attempted trespassing.
He was released on bail and will appear before Adelaide Magistrates Court on May 6.
