Man arrested after huge vigilante protest in Glasgow

A man has been arrested after police swarmed a huge vigilante protest in Glasgow.

A 58-year-old man has been charged in connection with 'indecent communication being made online'.

It comes after an crowd gathered on the scene outside a block of flats on Charles Street, Royston, last night around 5.35pm.

A police officer was injured on the scene as a result.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.35pm on Wednesday, 10 June, 2020, police received a report of indecent communication being made online.

“A 58-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with this.

"He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today, Thursday, 11 June, 2020.

“A number of people gathered at the property in Charles Street, Royston and an officer was hurt as a result.

"A 39-year-old man was arrested in connection with this.

"A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
