Man arrested after huge cannabis farm discovered in Ashton-under-Lyne

A man has been arrested after a huge cannabis farm was discovered at an address in Tameside.

Police raided the address on Canterbury Street in Ashton-under-Lyne today (Tuesday).

They seized a 'large quantity of cannabis plants'.

The man is currently in police custody awaiting an interview, a post on the GMP Tameside Facebook page said.

The post, put up at 1.30pm, said: "Local officers executed an early morning warrant earlier today at an address on Canterbury Street, Ashton-under-Lyne.

"A male was arrested in the address and is currently in police custody awaiting interview, a large quantity of cannabis plants were seized.

"The investigation is ongoing."
