A man in his 40s was arrested after gardai discovered a gun in a car in south Dublin.
The vehicle was stopped on the N11 in Shankill by gardai investigating organised crime on Saturday evening.
A mach type machine pistol was seized by members of the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Emergency Response Unit.
The man was arrested and taken to a garda station in south Dublin where he’s currently being detained.
He was arrested under the provisions of section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act 1939/98.
