Man arrested after Glasgow disturbance forced cops to shut road for hours

A man has been arrested after a disturbance in a Glasgow street.

Cops were called to Bain Street  in the Gallowgate area of the city at around 2.30pm on Saturday.

Several police vans were spotted on site, with officers taping off a section of Calton after reports of a disturbance at a nearby property.

Police say they have arrested a 37-year-old man in connection with the disturbance.

They added that the incident was contained and there was "no risk to the wider public".

Glasgow City Council warned drivers to be aware after the street was closed at the Gallowgate junction for several hours due to the incident.

It has since been reopened.
