Man arrested after Glasgow city centre incident which saw several roads shut

A MAN has been arrested following an incident in Glasgow city centre which saw several roads closed.

Police received reports of a man causing a disturbance at around 4.45am on Saturday on Kent Road, near St Vincent Street.

A number of nearby roads were shut while officers dealt with the incident, including Berkeley Street at North Street, Granville Street at Sauchiehall Street, Kent Road from North Street to Elderslie Street, Cleveland Street and Cleveland Lane.

Shortly before 12pm on Saturday, police confirmed a 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

There were no reported injuries and no threat to the wider public, police said.

UPDATE: Police have issued a correction to state that a 27-year-old man was arrested, not a 46-year-old man as previously reported
