A man has been arrested after gardai seized a total of €500,000 in cash following raids on a number premises in north Dublin and Co Cavan.
The operation targeted members of an organised crime group who are suspected to be involved in large scale trafficking of controlled drugs and associated money laundering.
The discovery was made at five premises spanning over the two counties.
A 38-year-old man was arrested and is being detained in Navan Garda Station.
Assistant Commissioner John O’Driscoll, Organised and Serious Crime said: "This operation demonstrates the continued determination of An Garda Síochána to target organised crime through stopping the flow of money suspected to be proceeds of crime and which provides the motivation for organised crime groups to trade in drugs.”
