Man arrested after gardai seize €300k worth of drugs and large sum of cash in north Dublin raid

A man was arrested after gardai seized a whopping €300,000 worth of illegal drugs and a large sum of cash in Dublin today.

The discovery came after Gardaí attached to the Balbriggan District Drugs Unit searched a house in Lusk.

Officers found 21 packages of cannabis and €5,000 in cash in during the investigation targeting local drug distribution networks.

Also found were smaller amounts of cannabis resin and cocaine, packaging equipment, and paraphernalia associated with the sale and supply of drugs.

A garda spokesman said: "A man in his early 40s was arrested and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at Balbriggan Garda Station. He can be held for up to seven days.

"The drugs will be sent to FSI for analysis."
