Man arrested after gardai seize €292k worth of drugs in west Dublin

A man has been arrested after gardai seized €292,000 worth of drugs on Monday night.

The 48-year-old was arrested after cops discovered heroin worth €280,000 and cocaine worth €12,000 in Ballyfermot, west Dublin.

The man was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Ballyfermot Garda Station.

Gardai, assisted by the Organised Crime Bureau, carried out the search on a residency in the area.

Assistant Commissioner John O’Driscoll of Special Crime Operations said: "An Garda Síochána is committed to disrupting the activities of organised criminals supplying drugs to our communities.

"This seizure of a substantial quantity of heroin and cocaine is significant in disrupting this supply.”
