A man in his 40s was arrested after gardai found a gun in a house in Dublin.
The firearm was discovered during the search of a residence in the Rossfield Crescent area of Tallaght this afternoon.
The man is currently being detained at Tallaght Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.
The arrest happened during an operation led by the M District Drugs Unit, assisted by Tallaght District Detective Unit and local Gardai.
Investigations are ongoing.
