Man arrested after fight victim suffers head injury in west London

A young man is in hospital tonight with a slash wound to the head after a fight in west London.

Police were called to reports of a disturbance at a property in Staines Road, Hounslow around 7.30pm on Thursday.

Officers attended along with the medics from London Ambulance Service.

A male, in his 20s, was discovered with a slash injury to his head.

The victim was taken to a west London hospital but his condition is not known.

Scotland Yard said a 51-year-old man arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm remains in police custody.

A crime scene is in place as enquiries continue.

Meanwhile, less than two miles away London Fire Brigade were called to put out an exploding car that burst into flames in Handworth Road.

Footage of the burning vehicle was posted online.

At this early stage, the cause is unknown but police are assisting with road closures.
