Man arrested after emergency services swoop on street in Reddish

A man has been arrested after emergency services swooped on a street in Reddish.

The disturbance broke out on Browning Road at around 11.50am on Wednesday.

Police, firefighters, the ambulance service and gas suppliers were called to the scene.

A spokesman for GMP confirmed a man had been arrested on suspicion of affray.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed one engine had attended and that crew members assisted police.

A spokesman for Cadent said they had supported police, and that the gas supply was safe.

North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 12.53pm to a private address on Browning Road."We have an ambulance and rapid response vehicle at the scene as well as the Hazardous Area Response Team and an operational commander."

The police cordon was lifted shortly after 3pm.

A GMP spokesman said: "At around 11.52am today Wednesday 25 September 2019, police were called to Browning Road in Reddish to reports of a disturbance.

"Officers attended and a man was arrested on suspicion of affray.

"He remains in custody for questioning."
