Man arrested after drugs including cannabis and heroin worth over €144,000 seized at north Dublin premises

A 24-year-old man has been arrested by Gardaí after drugs worth over €144,000 were found at a north Dublin premises today.

Revenue officers seized 3.2kg of herbal cannabis, over half a kilo of heroin and 150 tablets of Benzodiazepine during a search in Ballymun.

The illegal drugs have a combined estimated value of over €144,000.

Today's search was a result of an intelligence led operation.

This seizure was part of a joint operation conducted by Revenue Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau and the Ballymun Divisional Drugs Unit.

The man is currently detained at Ballymun Garda Station under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996.

Investigations are ongoing.

A Revenue spokeswoman said: "This operation was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
