Man arrested after cocaine worth €252,000 seized from house in Kildare in election day raid

A man has been arrested following the discovery of €252,000 worth of cocaine at a house.

Gardai raided a home in Kildangan, Co Kildare on Saturday, February 8 - polling day for the 2020 General Election - as part of ongoing investigations into the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the county.

Gardai, attached to the Kildare detective unit, carried out the search after getting a warrant from Naas District Court.

They found cocaine worth €252,000, as well as a large cocaine press with scales, bagging and packing machines.

The man arrested today is in his 30s and is being held at Kildare Garda Station.
