Man arrested after climbing onto roof and then running through Beatles Estate

A man has been arrested after he climbed onto a roof and then began running through gardens on the Beatles Estate in Kensington.

The man clambered onto the roof in Tudor Street South after police tried to carry out a warrant around 9.25am today (May 9).

Police cordoned of the area after the man ran into the Beatles Estate and started hopping between gardens on John Lennon Drive and Ringo Starr Drive.

A 27-year-old from Kensington was arrested on suspicion of burglary and recall to prison following the containment.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said:"We have detained a man following a containment in Kensington this morning, Wednesday 9 May.

"At around 9.25am, a warrant was carried out at an address in Tudor Street South. A man was reported to have made onto the roof of a house, before running onto the Beatles Estate."

Adding:"Officers contained the area and the male was seen in rear gardens of John Lennon Drive before being detained in Ringo Starr Drive a short time later.

"A 27-year-old man from Kensington was arrested on suspicion of burglary and recall to prison and has been taken to a police station for questioning."
