Man arrested after claims he 'brandished a blade' at popular Scots pub

A man has been arrested after he allegedly brandished a blade at a popular Scots pub.

Police were called to the report of a man with a knife at the Harbour Lights bar on Harbour Street in Irvine.

The alarm was raised at around 12.40pm on Tuesday, July 27.

Officers raced to the scene and a 46-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.

Police say their enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.40pm on Tuesday, 27 July, police were called to a report of a man with a knife within a business premises in Harbour Street, Irvine.

"Officers attended and a 46 year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. Enquiries are continuing.”
