A man has been arrested after the body of a 29-year-old man was found at a farm house in Shanavagoon, Ladysbridge, County Cork.
The man's body was found at 7am today.
Gardai have indicated that the man had a number of injuries.
His body was removed to the morgue at Cork University Hospital where a postmortem is due to take place.
The scene is currently preserved for a forensic examination.
The Office of the State Pathologist has also been notified.
A male in his late twenties has been arrested in connection with this incident and is currently being detained at Cobh Garda Station in Co Cork.
He is being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Investigations are ongoing.
The death is being treated as suspicious.
It is the second death in Cork after a dad was found dead in his home on Saturday.
Tributes have been paid to a man with a "heart of gold" who was found dead at a home in Cork city.
Gardai have after Paul Jones, 55, was discovered at the house on Bandon Road on Saturday.
Mr Jones' son, who is his only child, after trying to reach him for days.
In a statement his heartbroken family said: "He was a dad-of-one, he had a heart of gold. In his later years he was a very private man.

"In later life he was a very religious and generous man."
In the statement given to the Irish Daily Star, the family added: "Our family is shocked and devastated that Paul had to endure this death by the hands of another person.
"Everyone deserves justice for this horrendous crime and so does our beloved Paul."

Mr Jones’ son decided to go to the house after he was unable to contact him for a number of days.
Emergency services discovered blood after they turned over the body of the Cork man, who was originally from Mayfield on the northside of the city.
Gardai have appealed to the public who may have seen anything during the last six days to help them.
A Garda spokesman said: “Investigating officers are anxious to speak to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the Bandon Road/McCurtain Villas area of Cork City between Monday September 2 and Saturday, September 7.
“And anyone who may have dash cam footage to please contact the incident room at Anglesea Street on 021 4522000, the Garda Confidential Line 1 800 666 111 or any station.”
