A man has been arrested after armed police were spotted at a Scots hotel.
Police officers with guns and sniffer dogs were reported at the Hillpark Hotel in Rosyth last night.
They were there in relation to an ongoing investigation and confirmed that a man had been arrested.
The armed officers swooped on the popular hotel at just after 8pm, with numerous police vehicles also reportedly on-scene.
In a move to reassure the community, they confirmed that there was no wider threat, and that the incident was contained.
A police spokesperson said: "Police attended at an address in Heath Road, Dunfermline around 8.10pm on Friday, 3 September, in connection with enquiries into an ongoing investigation.
"One man has been arrested.
"There is no threat to the wider community."
