Man arrested after Anniesland petrol station staff member threatened in 4am robbery

A man has been arrested after an overnight robbery at an Anniesland petrol station.

The incident, in which a man threatened a staff member before fleeing with a three-figure sum of money and cigarettes, took place at around 4am this morning, at the Esso garage on Great Western Road.

Police confirmed a man has been arrested in connection with the robbery.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed to Glasgow Live: "Around 4 am on Tuesday, 5 May, 2020, a man entered the MFG Milady Service Station, Great Western Road, Glasgow.

"He threatened the staff member and made off with a 3-figure sum of cash and quantity of cigarettes.

"A man has been arrested in connection with the robbery and enquiries are continuing."
