Man arrested after allegedly making threats to kill at Great Park

A man has been arrested after allegedly making threats to kill at a Newcastle housing estate.

The man currently remains in police custody following the incident on Monday.

Emergency services were called to Barmoor Drive, Great Park, this afternoon after reports of the disturbance.

Witnesses say multiple police vehicles attended the scene along with a dog unit.

Northumbria Police confirmed that a man had been arrested after allegedly making threats and an investigation is currently under way.

A spokesperson for the force said: "This afternoon (Monday) a man was arrested at an address on Barmoor Drive, Great Park, on suspicion of making threats to kill.

“He remains in police custody and enquiries are ongoing.”
