A man has been arrested after an alleged shooting left a man dead in Ardrossan.
We told how a 42-year-old man died and a 46-year-old woman were injured following reports of shooting at a property n Nithsdale Road on Sunday.
Police raced to the scene when the alarm was raised at around 4.50pm.
Officers have now arrested a 42-year-old man in connection with the incident.
Enquiries are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At around 4.50am on Sunday, a 42-year-old man and 46-year-old woman were within a house in Nithsdale Road, Ardrossan, when a man entered the house and discharged what is believed to be a firearm before leaving the house.
"The 42-year-old man was then found with serious injuries and died at the scene a short time later.
"A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and inquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances of what happened."
