Man arrested after alleged robbery at pharmacy in Bathgate town centre

A man has been arrested after an alleged robbery at a Lloyds Pharmacy in West Lothian.

Police say that a 25-year-old male has been charged in connection with the incident, which happened on Saturday at a premises on King Street, Bathgate.

Officers were called to the scene of an incident at the pharmacy around 11.35pm, and a public appeal for information was then launched.

However police have now confirmed that they have made an arrest.

In a statement they said: "A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged following an alleged robbery at a pharmacy on King Street, Bathgate, on Saturday, 28 March 2020.

"He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 31 March 2020. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
