Man arrested after alleged golf buggy joyride around Adelaide's coastal roads

A man is expected to be charged with a number of traffic offences after allegedly stealing a golf buggy and cruising along the coastal roads of Adelaide's south-west this morning.

Police alleged the man stole the vehicle from a caravan park at Kingston Park after he was seen getting on the golf buggy and leaving the property about 8:40am.

Several calls were then made to police from members of the public who reported seeing the golf buggy travelling up the Esplanade towards Glenelg.

Police said there were also several sightings on Jetty Road, the main road of Glenelg's shopping precinct, as well as on Anzac Highway, one of Adelaide's busiest roads.

The vehicle was then found dumped on Elizabeth Street in Glenelg and the driver, a 25-year-old man, was arrested by police.

He is expected to be charged with illegal use, driving unregistered and uninsured, driving while disqualified and driving without due care.
