Man arrested after €30,000 worth of stolen laptops seized during Garda raid

A man in his 30s has been arrested after 21 suspected stolen laptops were seized during a Dublin sting on Monday.

Gardai from Clontarf discovered laptops worth €30,000 during a search of a premises in Dublin 22.

Cash, documents and a number of mobile phones were also discovered.

Preliminary enquiries have a revealed that some of these laptops were stolen in burglaries over the last two months.

14 of the seized laptops have already been matched with 8 reported break-ins.

The laptops will be on their way to their rightful owners in the coming days.

A garda spokesman said: "A man, aged in his 30s, was arrested in connection with this seizure and was detained at Clontarf Garda Station on Tuesday, 14th December 2021.

"He has since been released without charge. A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

"Gardaí will be reuniting the recovered property with the relevant owners in the coming days."
