Armed police have rushed to a street in Paris following reports a man with a machete has barricaded himself inside a building.
Officers were called to the neighborhood of Pére-Lachaise this morning.
Locals had reported seeing a man holding a machete inside a metro station at around 10.30am GMT.
One witness wrote online: "There's a guy walking down the halls of Father Lachaise with a machete.
"I saw my life paraded not knowing if I should stay on the subway or run home."

Another wrote: "(A man) is carrying around a machete in the metro be careful."
French police have not commented on the incident yet.
The man is now barricaded inside a building, according to Le Plume Libre.
Operational Support Group officers are at the scene.
Jean-Christophe Martin, a local councillor, urged people not to come to Pére-Lachaise.
"Avoid the area of rue du Chemin Vert #Paris11," he tweeted.
"Support for our police officers mobilized at this very moment."
