Man armed with knife demanded money from shop during robbery in Eastwood

Police officers investigating a knife-point robbery at a convenience store in Eastwood are appealing for witnesses.

A man entered the McColl's store at The Island and demanded money from the till after approaching the shop worker behind the counter with a knife.

The incident happened at around 7.45pm on Tuesday, July 9.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson said: "Officers from Nottinghamshire Police are appealing for information after a robbery at a shop in Eastwood.

"Anyone who saw what happened should call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 781 of 9 July 2019."

McColl's said it was working with the authorities to help with enquiries into the robbery.

A spokesman for the neighbourhood retailer added: "The health, safety and wellbeing of our employees and customers is of utmost importance.

"We are working closely with the relevant authorities in response to this incident."
