Man armed himself with knuckle duster and knife in 'revenge mob'

A man involved in a "revenge" attack in Yate has been jailed.

George Walker was among a group of men who visited the home, during which a car was damaged.

Walker admitted being armed with a knuckle duster and picking up a knife at the scene.

The 27 year old, whose address was given as Sheperds Patch in Slimbridge, pleaded guilty to possessing both the blade and knuckle duster in July last year.

He also pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order by attending his father's workplace.

Judge Michael Cullum handed him two months' prison for the breach of the restraining order and a total of ten months for the weapons charges.

It means that Walker, who was convicted after trial of controlling behaviour and an assault charge, is now serving a sentence of four years and one month.

Walker appeared for sentence at Bristol Crown Court via video link from HMP Bristol.

Man spared jail after 'mean burglary on life-long friend'

Ellen McAnaw, prosecuting, said Walker was seen with the weapons at the Yate property but it was accepted he was not responsible for causing damage to a vehicle.

When neighbours threatened to call police the group cleared off, the court heard.

Miss McAnaw said in 2014 Walker was served a restraining order to keep away from his father's workplace.

But, in a dispute over money for a car Walker wrote off, Walker bombarded his dad with calls and threatened to "spark him out".

When Walker arrived his dad had left and police were called.

Robert Morgan-Jones, defending, said: "The incident (in Yate) followed an earlier incident which was very much in reverse."

The judge told him: "A revenge mob is not a mitigating factor. But it is an explanation."
