Man apprehended for peeing in phone box in city centre

A man has been apprehended by police after being found peeing in a Lisburn City Centre phone box.

The PSNI were called to the incident after CCTV operators from Citywatchni spotted the man urinating in the phone box at around 11.30am this morning, while "plenty of people were about".

It has been alleged that this is not the first time that the man has 'done this type of thing'.

Police spoke to the man at the scene and he is due to be reported to the Public Prosecution Service.

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council have also been praised for quickly cleaning up the soiled phone box.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "CCTV operators from Citywatchni noticed a male this morning who was urinating in a phone box in Lisburn City Centre. This was at half 11 and there were plenty of people about.

"Police were directed in and spoke with the male who will be reported to the PPS, as it isn't the first time he's done this type of thing.

"Thanks to Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council who came and washed away the mess."
