Man appears in court in connection with stabbing of boy, 16, in Easton

A man appeared before magistrates charged in connection with the stabbing of a boy.

Abdul Mohammed, 28, of St Johns Lane in Bedminster is charged with conspiring, with others, to cause grievous bodily harm in Bristol on July 9.

Jeremy Oliver, prosecuting, said the alleged victim is aged 16, and was stabbed in the back and stomach in Easton.

The court heard the boy was hospitalised as a result.

David Fanson, defending Mohammed, conceded his client faces a very serious allegation, which he denies.

He said on July 7 his client was seriously assaulted and was hospitalised for two days.

Mr Fanson said his client did not orchestrate the alleged attack on the 16-year-old boy.

Magistrates sent Mohammed’s case to Bristol Crown Court for a pre-trial hearing on August 27.

He was remanded in custody.
