Man appears in court charged with the murder of a young man in Beswick

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Hamze Ismail.

Mohamed Khashkhush, 24, appeared at Salford and Manchester Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Wearing a grey sweater and jogging bottoms, he spoke only to confirm his name, age and address during the five-minute hearing.

The case was sent straight to crown court and Khashkhush was remanded into custody, he did not enter any pleas.

Hamze, 21, was stabbed at around 2am on Sunday, on Hinckley Street in Beswick.

He was taken to hospital but later died.

Hamze's heart-broken father Ibrahim Ahmed said: "Hamze was a loving son and a loving brother, who was always there for his family and friends.

"He was the type of person who would go out of his way to help others, and now we are broken as a family.

"We can’t believe that he’s gone.

"Losing Hamze has devastated me as a father, and I wouldn’t want any other family to go through what we are going through."

Khashkhush will appear at Manchester Crown Court on Thursday.
