Man appears in court after police discover cannabis plants in Mansfield

A man has been charged after Nottinghamshire police uncovered cannabis plamts in Mansfield.

Hoang Ho, 35, of no fixed address, has been charged with producing controlled drug class B and abstract or use without authority electricity.

Officers attended an address at Warsop Road, Mansfield Woodhouse, on September 14 at around 10.30am, after receiving calls from neighbours complaining about a strong smell of cannabis.

Police discovered 291 plants stuffed into rooms around the property and in the loft.

Constable Pete Gardiner, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Targeting drug-related crime is a key priority for us.

“Because the trade of illegal drug-related crime has very serious consequences in our community not only for local people and residents but also putting people at risk by associated violent crimes.

“We would urge anyone with suspicions about properties in their area to make us aware and get in touch as soon as possible.”

The man appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, September 15, and has been remanded in custody. He will next appear in court next month on Friday, October 15.
