A man allegedly tried to stab another male with a hypodermic needle in a Hamilton shop.
Dylan Gibson is accused of assaulting his victim at the Co-op in Mill Road on December 15.
It's alleged that Gibson breached bail conditions banning him from Mill Road by going there that day and also on December 12 and 14.
Further charges state that the 23-year-old stole meat and alcohol from the Co-op.
Gibson is also charged with unlawful possession of a pointed item, namely a hypodermic needle.
He was allegedly the subject of six different bail orders at the time.
Gibson, of no fixed address, pleaded not guilty to the charges at Hamilton Sheriff Court.
Trial was set for February 23 and he was remanded in custody.
