Man and woman shot in home as armed police called out to incident near caravan park

Two people have been shot inside a home in a rural village in Essex with armed police rushing to the scene.

Emergency services, including paramedics and police officers, were spotted at the property in Little Baddow, on the outskirts of Chelmsford, at around 8.40am on Friday.

An Essex Police spokesperson confirmed they were called to the scene following concerns a woman had been injured.

When they arrived, they found two people - a man and a woman - who had suffered gunshot wounds.

Both of them were taken to hospital.

Police told Essex Live they are not looking for anyone else involved in the case.

The incident happened near to the Little Baddow Fruit Farm caravan park.

It's understood that no caravans are being let onto the park as a result of this incident.

A police helicopter was also reported circling in the sky above the property.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson told Mirror Online: “Two ambulances, three vehicles from the Hazardous Area Response Team and two Essex and Herts Air Ambulances attended a property on Church Road in Little Baddow this morning just after 9.00am.

"Two patients were treated for gunshot wounds and transported by air ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital.”
