A man and woman have been seriously injured in an alleged knife attack in Glasgow.
A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged incident that happened on Govan Road last night.
A Police Scotland spokesman confirmed officers raced to the scene at around 9pm.
It is understood the victims were injured by a knife or bladed weapon and this is forming part of the investigation.
Two police vans, two ambulances and two ambulance support vehicles all attended the scene, next to Riverside Primary School.
A 54-year-old man and 52-year-old woman were both taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to their injuries.
Part of the road was cordoned off and traffic was diverted through Orkney Street and Southcroft Street in the Govan area.
The 31-year-old man who was arrested and charged is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday October 4.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged after officers were called to a report that a man and a woman had been seriously assaulted on Govan Road, Glasgow, around 9pm on Thursday, 30 September, 2021.
“A 54-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
“The 31-year-old man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, 4 October.”
