A probe has been launched after a man and woman were battered and hospitalised by thugs near a Glasgow canal path.
Cops were called to the scene after the attack around 5.10pm on Saturday at a grassy area in Blairdardie Road near the canal path.
A 26-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man were treated in hospital for serious head and back injuries following the brutal assault.
Detective Constable James McLelland said: “There were groups of youths around at the time of this serious assault and I am appealing to anyone who has not yet spoken to us to get in touch.
“In particular we are looking to speak to people seen moving off towards the canal path and towards Garscadden Road.
