Couple rushed to hospital after being 'stabbed' in parking row at Scots home

Two victims were rushed to hospital last night after being attacked in a Troon home.

Cops and paramedics raced to a flat in North Shore Road shortly after 8.30pm on Saturday.

The 49-year-old woman and 56-year-old man were taken to University Hospital Ayr where their conditions are not thought to be life-threatening.

The Record understands the couple, who live apart, were 'stabbed' in a row over a parking space.

Locals reacted with shock as news of the sickening attacks spread.

One neighbour posted on Facebook: "North Shore Road tonight something happening in flats near the path to football park.

"Two ambulances, police cars and undercover cars..looked serious!

"I seen the first ambulance leave as I was driving past and an unmarked police car was behind it with its lights on - hope everyone is okay but looked serious."

Another told how she was quizzed by cops while passing.

She posted: "The whole wee street was shut off when I drove past and hunners of police.

"Must be serious."

A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed officers are following a positive lead.

She added: “Around 8.35pm on Saturday, 8 August, 2020, officers were called to a property in North Shore Road, Troon, following reports of an assault.

“A 49-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man were taken to University Hospital Ayr for treatment.

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and officers are following a positive line of enquiry.”
