Man and woman pulled from Cork river and rushed to hospital

A man and a woman were rescued from the River Lee in Cork city centre on Saturday morning and rushed to hospital.

The pair, understood to be in their early 30s, were spotted in the water at Anderson's Quay - by the bus station - shortly after 9am and emergency services were alerted.

Shocked bystanders watched on as members of Cork City Fire Brigade conducted a swift river rescue, pulling the man and woman to safety.
