Two men are in critical condition in hospital after a multi-vehicle crash in Salford.
The crash, which involved a lorry and two cars, happened on the A57 Cadishead Way in Irlam at around 11.30am yesterday.
Police, fire crews and paramedics were called to the scene.
The air ambulance was also called.
Police have now confirmed that a 62-year-old man and a 39-year-old man were both taken to hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the lorry remained at the scene to assist officers and no arrests have been made.
The road was cordoned off for around five hours after the crash yesterday.
Collision investigators were at the scene and traffic diversions were in place.
Police are now appealing for any witnesses of the crash to come forward.
In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 11.30am yesterday, (Wednesday 23 June) police were called to a report of a road traffic collision involving a lorry and two cars on the A57 at Cadishead Way, Irlam.
"The air ambulance and fire service also attended and a 62-year-old man and a 39-year-old man were both taken to hospital in a critical condition.
"The driver of the lorry remained at the scene to assist police. No arrests have been made.
