Man and woman hurt in 1am motorbike crash after hitting kerb

A motorbike rider and their passenger were treated on the road after a dramatic crash in the early hours of Tuesday.

Emergency services were called to Southport's waterfront road just before 1am after reports a bike had hit a kerb at Marine Parade, near the Ocean Plaza complex.

The crash that followed injured both riders and led to them receiving specialist care from paramedics before being taken to hospital.

Images released by police showed the aftermath of the incident, including the damaged motorbike and the help given to the injured pair.
