A man and a woman were hospitalised this morning after an alleged stabbing at house in Cork.
Both, believed to be aged in their late 30s, received apparent stab wounds in Macroom shortly after midday.
Gardai and an ambulance were called to the scene and both the man and woman were rushed to Cork University Hospital.
Neither are believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries.
Gardai said they are investigating the incident and no arrests have yet been made.
An area has been cordoned off for a technical examination to be carried out.
A spokesperson said: "Gardaí in Macroom attended an incident at Cork Street Macroom Co Cork at midday.
"Two people were removed from the scene to Cork University Hospital and being treated for their injuries.
"At present the scene is being preserved and being examined by Scenes of Crime examiners. Further enquiries are being carried out at this time.
"Investigations are ongoing."
